Finding a reputable immigration lawyer can be hard. While we cannot endorse any one firm/lawyer over another, all have capable lawyers, who will deal with you ethically. PUBLIC CHARGE UPDATE - WHAT ADVOCATES NEED TO KNOW
On September 9, 2022, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) published a final rule on the public charge inadmissibility ground. The new rule will become effective on December 23, 2022. Please click here for a summary of these changes in English. For a copy of these rules in any other language, please email crc4me@icloud.com or text us at 1-800-674-9217, asking for a translation of the Public Charge Update in your preferred language. Messages do not have to be in English.

PAYING BOND
At the end of April, 2023, ICE announced the launch of CeBONDS. This is a new system people can use to pay bonds and secure the release of immigrants held in immigration detention. The new system allows people paying the bond —"obligors" — to go through most of the process online, without having to make the payment at a local ICE office.
U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, law firms, and non-profit organizations can use CeBONDS to post a delivery bond, voluntary departure bond, or order of supervision bond. Noncitizens can also post a voluntary departure bond or order of supervision bond on their own behalf.
To post a bond online, click here. Effective June 1, 2023, bonds must be paid electronically utilizing the CeBONDS system.

Immigrants with final orders of removal can no longer be found in the ICE Online Detainee Locator. To find a person who is detained:

Look for them on Commissary Accounts, accounts where you can give your loved ones money for food and calls.

Detained people who are not in removal proceedings may still be found at the ICE Online Detainee Locator.

Contact the consulate of the person who is detained.

Note: People who have already been deported will not appear in the locator.
